Sick, But Not From Movies...

What do you do when you're not feeling well? Watch movies. This morning I slept while the entire house was busy getting ready for church. I heard nothing until my wife said goodbye as she and the kids left. It felt good to sleep in.

With the family off receiving spiritual instruction, I checked out our On Demand selection. There were quite a few films to see. We don't, as a general rule, see movies in the theater. It's something we gave up years ago and I can honestly say I don't miss the theater experience too much, especially if the movie is bad. Then I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a bad show.

One of the shows I watched was Battleship which was last year's big budget bomb. I don't understand why these films don't do better. It wasn't that bad. Then again, I didn't pay to watch it in a theater and maybe that makes a difference. I even liked the way the incorporated the game (after which the movie was inspired...). Making a multi-million dollar movie based on a game can't be an easy thing to do, even if Clue is a classic. I took the picture from a review of the movie written last year. I think his review is pretty spot on and you can read his review: HERE.

I'm hoping my day of watching movies will improve my health enough to get me through a 40-hour work week and three performances. If not, I may be watching more movies...

  1. We've had sickness here ... the flu which knocked everyone who got it out for a solid week (4 of us got it). I'm still not feeling all the way better. I got caught up on the second season of Pushing Daisies. I did see Battleship (on DVD, I also have not been in an actual movie theater mood for a while). I liked it, I think I'm less picky when I'm watching a movie while working out on my elliptical, at least I'm still getting stuff done.
