My friend Steve e-mailed me a couple of pictures of him at a work outing he attended last week. For some reason, the photos made me think of a quote from Ernest Hemingway, of all things.
I was told that someone once asked Mr. Hemingway what was the shortest story he could write, or maybe it was the shortest story he ever heard. I'm a little fuzzy on the facts.
In either case, it was reported that he said these words which became the shortest story:
"For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn."
Personally, I love the story whether or not he even said it or wrote it or heard it.
So, even though a picture is worth a thousand words, I give you the following story in two photos:
I didn't say it was a great story...
I had to look twice - you always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sally! Though subtle, I believe it worked! ;) Glad my little posts can make you smile.
DeleteWow, THAT one had a punch line! Too funny.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shauna--after I posted the pictures and presented my case for the short two-picture story, it was the only thing I could say. Glad you liked it!
