Utah Winter Faire, 2014 Edition...

*

My publisher, Xchyler Publishing, rented a space at the 2014 Utah Winter Faire. It opened today and I was there.

And the best thing about the event is that it's basically in my backyard.

Okay, so it's a mile or so away from where I live, but I LOVE that, even though I haven't really traveled far to attend a conference. Here's some pictures of just some of what I saw today!

The event goes from today, December 5 through Sunday, December 7. You can access their website: HERE. It's in Farmington. If you're in the area, drop by! Be sure to check out TexaSmoke BBQ (delicious!), Art by Sean Ricks and Xchyler authors, Candice Thomas, Sarah Seeley, Scott Tarbet, Jay Barson, and your's truly! And, if you're lucky, you might even run into the Talking Rat Lady!

Salt City Steamfest, 2014 Edition...

It's late, my feet are killing me, and I lost my eye glasses. Still, I had a blast at this year's Salt City Steamfest. It's a two-day event, but tomorrow I'm busy with a tech day. Here's a few pictures of just some of the atmosphere found within its walls.

And, I met three Xchyler writers I had not met before. I would mention that had those authors been in attendance for my Steampunk throwdown panel (and they had picked my argument that the Clockwork Tinkers were superior to both the molemen and the airship pirates...), I would have won the competition. But since I'm not that kind of person, I won't mention it.

It was a good day!

FanX-Perience Preserved In Pictures...

My friend's been bugging me about posting some of my Salt Lake Comic Con 2014 FanX photos. Truth be told, I didn't take a lot of pictures--I usually take a lot more at such an event, but my mission at the conference was a little different. I was trying to meet people, sound somewhat intelligent (which is another word for "qualified"...) on the panels and strengthen relationships. And besides, if I took a picture of every cool thing I saw over those three days, I wouldn't have had time to do anything else.

So, here are some photos! Thanks goes to Kenn Johnson for sending me the only photo of me at a panel (that I know of, anyway...). Thanks to Dave and Candice for the table space! And a HUGE thanks to Blake Cassleman for the invite. I had a fantastic time!
