The pictures for this week's writing prompt
are a little unusual. Of course, most times the pictures are unusual. I
can't tell what kind of mood I'm in, as I set about to compose a short
little story. Let's see what we come up with.

Me And The Countess On A Sunday Night
I'm still mad, mad at Mary, mad at Edith, and absolutely livid
at Matthew, but what can a single woman from Phoenix do? Just sit on my
couch with Countess, my cat and eat Cherrios as we wait for the next
episode to air.
I don't know why I still watch. I mean, how
much do they expect me to put up with? First season--Titanic sinking,
then the start of the war. Second season--the blasted war continues and
there's that daughter running off with the chauffeur, ah...nothing but
trouble with that.
And then we have the amazingly disastrous
Seasons Three and Four. Oh! What more can they do to me? I mean,
seriously...I look out my front window as I'm thinking about it--two
deaths, TWO! And these are not minor characters, either. They're the
first string, major stars! The pain! The betrayal! The disloyalty!
They're lucky I'm even giving the next season a chance. So far, so good.
People are getting along with their lives, some are healing, others
still mourning. I, for one, am still very much upset with the
characters, the writers, the producers, even the costumers. They all
share the blame to some extent.
Still...I admit had things turned out differently, had they decided to just keep everyone around, like most of the shows in America do, it would make for a less entertaining program on some level. What would my friends and I have to talk about Monday mornings?
All right, Countess. We've got 10 minutes until this boring show ends and Ms. Linney's reassuring voice introduces us to yet another hour of drama, intrigue, passion, honor, and above all, delicious entertainment.
