One Of My Favorite Buildings...

My mother-in-law has some great books about the architecture of downtown Salt Lake City. One book in particular shows areas of the city taken at various times in the past and how those same areas look today, and whenever possible, the pictures are taken from the same vantage points.

Across the street from where I'm currently working is a building called simply enough, The City/County Building. It's one of my favorites. One aspect I especially like is that the upper part of the building seems to float on a sea of green foliage in the summer.

The same holds true for my winter picture, only this time it's floating on a blanket of white.

There are many interesting structures downtown. This is a good one...

  1. It's interesting to see the same building at different times of the year. I agree it does look as though it is floating.

    1. Yes Sally--as the trees fill out with leaves, it's more striking. I'm sure I'll snap a picture of five of it as the summer arrives.
