Snow Haters...
A friend of mine posted something on a certain social
network about his/her hatred of snow, and not only snow, but all things cold.
The post elicited several comments, many in support of his/her view and many
promoting the opposite—that there is much that can not only be appreciated, but enjoyed in
the season of diminished temperatures.
I thought about writing a response myself that included all
the wonderful things that can—and should be acknowledged about the season. I
decided against this because many of his/her friends did a wonderful job with
expressing their opinions and they covered the subject quite well. One friend
even described the living hell that is living in Arizona and how a few months
of snow would be a God-send to those souls who to live in such a place, a place
my friend would welcome.
And so I think those who hate the cold and snow should ask themselves
if they ought to move. They should consider leaving the snow area where they
live and relocate to a non-snow locale void of that cursed white stuff and
where temperatures never drop below 50ยบ Fahrenheit. For there they will find
happiness. Of course, many won’t find happiness there, no more than they find
it here. People are funny that way…
It’s too bad they hate a season—they hate a gift from God.
They dismiss a chance to appreciate one of the truly beautiful times of the
year. We are told are trials are given to us for our benefit. I guess my trial
is dealing with all the unhappy people who hate the snow. ;)
