Okay, so my nephew technically got engaged the day before St. Patrick's Day, but you get the idea. Thanks to Facebook we were hit with the news of friends and family all getting engaged this weekend.
When I think of St. Patrick's Day, I don't think: What a great day to get engaged, but apparently these people did (maybe Valentine's Day was too early...). In any case, the brides-to-be wore more than green today--they wore diamonds.
Of course, for years and decades to come, they will have an easy day to remember the anniversary of "the question." I have a friend who got married on his birthday, which I believe is a brilliant move on his part--he'll never forget his anniversary. My brother-in-law got married on Leap Year Day. Good move!
So here's to the couples! May their separate lives become one and their happiness be endless! God bless.
Our anniversary is new years eve. It's kind of a fun day, there are always fireworks, but we usually celebrate in January since there is always something going on at the new year. I'm happy for all 3 of these couples.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day to celebrate...seem the whole world celebrates the day with you!
DeleteOh wow, looks like y'all have been hit by a wave of engagements. They are coming thick and fast on my Facebook page too.
ReplyDeleteNever thought of St Paddy's day as a good day to get engaged, maybe if I were getting married to an Irishman ...
