Back To The Group...Finally!

Oh, it's been a while, but I'm happy to say tonight I was able to return to my writing group. Actually, it's not my group necessarily, but it's a group that allows me to participate.

And it's a fantastic writing group!

Being in a writing group is a great way to improve your writing. I've blogged about this group before. It took me a long time to get in and I thought I had blown it by doing so many plays this last two years, I wasn't able to regularly attend. But they accepted me back and I'm so glad.

Tonight I submitted, for the first time to the group, a screenplay. We've gone over screenplays in the past, but they were not my stories. I was a little apprehensive about turning it in because it's not what the group is used to. But, I wanted to know what the group thought of the story and the dialogue that went along with it.

The results were very positive; it was a lot of fun. I've got some work to do on the script and, as always, the group offered some excellent critique. That's the best part of this particular group. They're always positive--even when offering suggestions that could be delivered in a negative way, the news is given just the opposite.

I only provided half of my story tonight because we don't want to overwhelm everyone with a lot of pages. In a little while I'm going to send out the second half of my little tale. Hopefully it will answer some of the questions they had.

Can't wait for next week!

    1. Well, first we have to see if it will get made. I'll let you know!

  2. It will! Hey, I wanted to ask you, Mr. Writer, you try to write something every day, correct? Do you use just a laptop or do you submit writings from tablets or phones? I've tried blogging from my phone and it's a pain. I was just wondering how you do it, because I'm going to start writing again, putting things on my blog. I like how you try to write something every day. I thought I'd try that.

    1. I just picked up an iPad to see if I can use that to blog. I've used my laptop to write every blog (and I do write daily...). I just picked up an iPad to see if I can use that to blog. With a decent external keyboard I think I can. I can't really use a phone to write anything--too frustrating. The best advice is for you to choose a time to write and always do it. I blog before I go to sleep. Good luck!
