The Big Red Plastic Basket...

I didn't know it when I woke up, but it was going to be a morning of fruits and vegetables...you know, produce.

As my wife weeded various areas of our yard, I fetched the big red plastic basket and reaped the harvest of what we sowed.

I found green peppers...

A red pepper...

I did not harvest the melons....

And a bumper crop of cucumbers and zucchinis, with a tomato and some boysenberries thrown in...

For the past few weeks we have signed up for a service that delivers fresh produce. It's called the Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op. The website is: Here. If you're interested and wonder if the food is good, let me tell you, it is...

All the baskets were lined up just waiting for us to pick up our already-purchased items. Of course, we took the big red plastic basket (you need to bring your own method of transport). When we got home we added the new items to those already collected. We had quite the assortment of fruits and vegetables.

Our kitchen is on the small side so to clean the kitchen, I needed to put all the produce somewhere and cooking range on top of the oven seemed the perfect place. I was able to get everything on top of the oven, including the big red plastic basket full of vegetables.

As I was doing the dishes, my wife came in and asked why the burner was on. I was unaware of this. We turned off the burner and moved the items and that's when we found out--I had inadvertently turned on the burner and by so doing, melted the big red plastic basket and part of a cantaloupe.

Now, the basket's ruined. We bought a big white plastic basket to replace it. The new (unmelted) basket will accompany us on next week's produce adventure.
