I've not been to a lot of conferences. Work sent me once over 10 years ago. Needless to say, I don't spend a lot of time in hotels. Today, however, I've been in a hotel all day long. Seriously, how do businessmen and businesswomen do it?
It's Day 1 of the LDStorymakers Conference, 2012 edition. It's my first experience at this particular conference. I'm tired.
I've met many writers and authors (not necessarily the same thing...). I met Keith N Fisher, Chas Hathaway, Berin L Stephens, Lisa Swinton, and Kristen Knight (it seems we're distant cousins...) among others. I attended lectures given by Kathleen Ortiz, Karen E Hoover, Howard Tayler (no, I am not his brother...), Dan Wells, and John Brown.
One thing seems to bring us all together, and it's the conference motto: Building Better Writers. It's a good and worthy goal. I'm amazed that all of these people are trying to better their craft and improve their talents.
Day 1 is almost done. In less than 12 hours I need to be awake and on the road again. Tomorrow's another full day at the conference.
Wish I was there. Enjoy it for me!
