No NaNoWriMo This Year...

*

So many writers have been blogging and writing about November since, well...last November. For those of you unfamiliar with the phrase, "NaNoWriMo" it stands for the National Novel Writing Month. Technically, a person can write a novel any month...November seems to be the month of choice.

Basically, if you choose to participate in NaNoWriMo, you've got 30 days to write a 50,000 word novel, that's just under 1,666 words a day. And since I don't write on Sundays (except for my daily journal and this blog...), I would need to write 1,923 words a day for 26 days, and if I wished to start this month, I would only have 25 days for this November (since I didn't write today...), which means I would need to write exactly 2K words a day.

I would love to participate with all those other writers. But I don't believe I'm going to do it this year. The play will take a lot of my time this month, and, of course, there's that "working full-time" thing...

Like I stated earlier, technically, a person can write 50,000 words in a 30 day span anytime. I think it would be cool to join the army of creators in an epic battle against exhaustion, frustration, and the ever-present, writer's block. Together we'll win the war. Next year, I hope to be right there in the trenches with you!

  1. The Ward Witch has been silent or silenced for a while, maybe she could come to help you write this month.
