Back when we had a different internet/cable provider we came across a funny little show on WGN out of Chicago. The show is Corner Gas and it's a fantastic show. Quick synopsis: the story revolves around a gas station in the fictional town of Dog River, Saskatchewan, Canada. There's a diner attached to the gas station (like the Chevron/Arby's we Americans know so well...) and an assortment of mixed nuts.
Now, just so you understand, it's not a "laugh track, thousand jokes an episode" kind of show. It's kind of sleepy, not flashy, and our family loves it.
That's perhaps the best thing about the show. My whole family, from the parents to our nine-year old, can enjoy the show. Sure, there's a couple of episodes where we'd not like the kids to watch...you know, like when Oscar walks around the house sans clothes. But, that's the amazing part. It's an episode, not like most shows where there's something questionable in every episode.
Corner Gas ran for six seasons and we ordered Season Six just tonight. They're a little hard to find, but if you're like me, it's worth the trouble.
