Tonight we gathered as neighbors and friends (hopefully those terms are synonymous...) and burned stuff. How great is that? I know! There's something basic in a fire. I know there's countless theories written about the effects fire has on man's psychology, and the theories are written because it's true. A fire can cause untold destruction and comfort.
I snapped a couple of pictures of the evening. We even had musical performances from members of the congregation. It was a perfect night to gather scraps of wood and broken tree limbs that weren't carted away after the big wind storm and burn them while we stood around the roaring blaze having a great time. I say, we do it again!
